Simon Francis Brown is the author of Bonaparte & Brimstone (The Conrad Press, 2023), the story of John Monk, a Georgian naval officer and merchant master. He is an English Literature graduate from Oxford, with a passion for personal stories, old papers and all things illustrated.

Following the success of Bonaparte & Brimstone, Simon’s second book, The Vanishing Age of Sail, will be published by Amberley Press in July 2025.

Beginning his career in publishing, Simon has worked for many years in project management and communications. Simon lives in South London, a short bike ride from the Cutty Sark and Greenwich museums.
